Liverpool’s stance on Virgil Van Dijk confirmed
Liverpool FC have today confirmed that they have dropped their interest on Van Dijk.
The 25-year-old Belgian centre-back has been recently linked with Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. Further reports emerged that Van Dijk has chosen Liverpool over Chelsea and City as his next destination.
Liverpool’s attention towards Van Dijk made Southampton furious. They seeked FA’s intervention over Liverpool’s illegal approach to their player and filed a legal complaint.

The drama received it’s conclusion today after Liverpool released an official statement announcing they have ended their interest on Van Dijk. They also made an apology to Southampton for this ongoing saga.

“Liverpool Football Club would like to put on record our regret over recent media speculation regarding Southampton Football Club and player transfers between the two clubs,”
“We apologise to the owner, board of directors and fans of Southampton for any misunderstanding regarding Virgil van Dijk.
“We respect Southampton’s position and can confirm we have ended any interest in the player.”
