Jermain Defoe to Bournemouth is almost a Done Deal
Jermain Defoe is all set to sign for Bournemouth from Sunderland after exercising a Relegation-Release clause in his Sunderland contract.
We understand that Defoe has signed a three year contract with the Cherries worth £60,000 per week. The 34 Year old England International had scored 15 goals for Sunderland last season but this did not help Black Cats from being relegated to Championship.
Defoe joined Sunderland in January 2015 in a swap deal with Toronto FC with Jozy Altidore going to the US Club.
Defoe was 18 Year old when he played for Bournemouth in 2000-01 season on loan from West Ham United and he scored 19 goals for the Cherries in 31 appearances. He played alongside Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall who are Club’s Manager and Assistant Manager respectively.
His form recently has earned him his England call-up replacing Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney who has not been good this season.
Defoe has hailed Bournemouth in his recent interview by saying that the club has a special place in his heart, ahead of the expected announcement of his switch to the south coast after the international duty.
