England Under 21 and Manchester City goalie, Angus Gunn joins Norwich on loan
Gunn makes a return to his boyhood club to get some match time and prove his worth.
Gunn,21 is, of course, the son of a true Norwich City legend, Bryan Gunn. In fact, it was Bryan’s fate as a manager that ultimately helped take the Canaries academy product out of Norfolk and over to Manchester City come 2011.
Gunn has been developing quite well in City and has impressed Guardiola with his skills, as the Spaniard has decided to send him on loan to gain some valuable match time.
The Spaniard is looking to redesign Manchester City as he has been very active in the transfer market as he has already signed Bernardo Silva from Monaco. and Guardiola is likely to sign £35m Benfica stopper, Ederson, who will be his first choice at the club. So it’s better than Gunn moves away and get games to prove his worth.
Only then will we find out how good the boyhood Norwich City fan really is between the sticks. That roll of the dice is the reality of investing in youth. The young shot-stopper has also been named in England’s Under 21 squad which will travel to Poland for the Under-21 European Championships.
With Gunn’s departure, Guardiola is left with two senior goalkeepers, as Caballero is leaving the club on a free transfer and Claudio Bravo and Joe Hart are the two goalies left at the club.
