Zenit Saint Petersburg sign midfielder Christian Noboa on a three-year-deal

Russian powerhouse Zenit Saint Petersburg have signed Ecuadorian midfielder Christian Noboa on a three-year-deal that will keep him at the club until 2020.

Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Noboa began his career with local side CS Emelec. He made 89 appearances for El Bombillo before joining Russian side Rubin Kazan, thus becoming the first Ecuadorian player ever to play in the Russian Premier League.

Noboa spent five years with Kazan in which he made 109 appearances and scored 23 goals while he also two Premier League titles and a Russian Cup. In 2012, Noboa signed for Spartak Moscow and spent three years with them before playing for Greece side P.A.O.K and FC Rostov respectively.

Noboa has a total of 75 caps for the Ecuador national team and has scored 4 goals so far.

Noboa joins Zenit on a free transfer as Roberto Mancini looks to build his new squad.
