Sourav Ganguly was present in the stands of Cardiff watching the UCL Final
Sourav Ganguly, the legendary former Captain of Indian cricket team was in the stands of Principality Stadium, Cardiff on the occasion of UEFA Champions League final.
He was accompanied by his daughter and wife. Senior journalist and Cricket Historian Boria Majumdar was also with him(in the pic).
Ganguly is an ardent Manchester United fan. His days at Lancashire County coincided with the glory days of the Red Devils and he follows the club since.
Besides, he is a die-hard fan of Diego Maradona, whom he openly claims to be greatest footballer ever. As a consequence, he is a fan of La Albiceleste as well, a great part of which owes to the diminutive legend. His starting days as a dreamer of becoming a footballer is a fact unknown to none.
Ganguly is currently in England as a commentator for the ICC Champions Trophy cricket and made the trip from Birmingham to Cardiff to watch the final and then again returned to Birmingham to commentate on the high-voltage India-Pakistan clash within twelve hours.
Sourav Ganguly was present in the 2014 and 2016 finals in Lisbon and Milan also but as a guest of Atletico de Madrid being their business partners in Atletico de Kolkata. But this time, he was there in the biggest occasion of them all as a neutral and also cherished the atmosphere of the grand finale in which Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace saw Los Blancos through.
