Santos FC named ex Chennaiyin FC midfielder as interim manager
Brazilian giants Santos FC has appointed former Chennaiyin FC midfielder Elano Blumer as their interim manager. The Brazilian was appointed within hours after sacking Dorival Junior following a poor result against league rivals Corinthians FC.
Dorival Junior has had a decent spell with the club, He was appointed as the head coach back in 2015.In his two stints as the manager of the club he led the team to 111 wins and 34 draws in all matches.
Santos FC’s league form has been poor this season. They now sit 16tth in league table with just 3 points from 4 matches which led to the appointment of Elano.

The ex Manchester City and Galatasaray midfielder has been given the task to steer the club back to the top of Brazilian league. Elano joined the clubs backroom staff in January following his retirement from football.
The 35 year old has been presented with an excellent opportunity to start his managing career as his side faces Botafago who sits seventh in the table.
