Manchester City might go for Serge Aurier
Manchester City will try to sign Serge Aurier if Kyle Walker deal fails to go through.
Aurier joined Paris Saint-Germain permanently in 2015 from Toulouse after spending one year at the Paris-based club on loan. The 24-year-old Ivorian right-back has been one of PSG’s constant performers from last couple of seasons. He is known for his physicality and pace along with his defensive skills.
Aurier, who is contracted to PSG until 2019, is refusing to put pen to paper on a new deal amidst strong interest from Barcelona and Manchester United. Now, France Football claims that Manchester City will also step up their interest in the Ivorian if they fail to pursue their no. 1 target Kyle Walker.
Walker is almost certain to leave Tottenham this summer. But Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is demanding £50m for the England international which is £10m more than what City are willing to pay. Considering the fact that Levy is a notorious negotiator, Manchester City feel they might end up losing Walker battle and in that case Aurier would be their top target.
With Barcelona closing in on Benfica right-back Nelson Semedo, Manchester City and Manchester United remain the only two suitors of Aurier. That means, we might observe another fierce off-field Manchester battle this summer.
