Juventus in pole position to sign Sampdoria ace
Sampdoria striker Patrick Schick has emerged as one of the most promising prospects in Serie A this season. The 21 year old has netted 11 goals for the Genovese outfit, but what impressed everyone more is his movements and approach towards the game.
A talented footballer never lacks suitors, and the Croat ace has also been attracting some of the biggest names in the business. Schick has previously been linked with Inter Milan and Napoli. But according to reports in Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus are in pole position to sign the 21 year old striker.
Pavel Nedved is a big admirer of the tall striker and had talks with his agents. Juventus are ready to pay the €25 million release clause of Schick. Sources suggest that even if the Bianconeri buy him, Schick will remain at Sampdoria in the upcoming season and would join the Turin giants in 2018-19 season.
Patrick Schick joined Sampdoria at the start of this season from Sparta Prague and has impressed the football pundits since by his impressive display on the field. He played an instrumental role in securing the 10th place finish for the Blucerchiati. Besides scoring 11 times in the Serie A, the Czech international has also scored twice in three games in Coppa Italia before getting knocked out by Roma in the round of 16.
Juventus management are imagining Patrick Schick as a back-up to Gonzalo Higuain. With the departure of Mario Mandžukić seemingly on the cards, the inclusion of Schick would be a sensible move.
