News 1: Alexis Sanchez frustrated by Arsenal’s failed title challenge.

Rumours over Alexis Sanchez’s contract at the Emirates grows as he admits that he has been left frustrated by Arsenal’s failed title challenge.

The Gunners sat top of the Premier League in December but have fallen well adrift in their pursuit of EPL. Arsene Wenger’s men sit fifth ahead of the final round of fixtures but need results to go in their favour to qualify for the Champions League. On a personal note, it has been another excellent season for Sanchez .

The Chilean has been Arsenal’s standout performer but is yet to sign a new deal after talks over an extension stalled. “Sometimes when I look at the team we have and the players here… because when it comes to winning the Premier League we often lose or draw against teams at home when we are superior,” he said.

News 2: Gunners eye Tolisso

Arsene Wenger is keen on Corentin Tolisso, with the French midfielder is set to leave Lyon this summer. Arsenal boss Wenger is planning a major overhaul of his squad, looking to strengthen the defence, in midfield and their range of attacking options, and is a long-term admirer of the 22-year-old.

The Gunners are already hot on the trail of Malaga’s Spanish international midfielder Pablo Fornals, 21, and Tolisso is another target, although Lyon would want in excess of £30million to part with him.

Tolisso is ready to quit Lyon to strengthen his chances of making France’s squad for the World Cup next summer, and Wenger is keeping close tabs on the situation.

News 3: Gunners receive boost in pursuit of Porto duo

Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Porto duo Danilo and Andre Silva. Both players have been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks. And Correio de Manha reports Porto are relying on the duo to bring in funds this summer. Danilo is a holding midfielder while Silva has impressed up front this term.

News 4: Giroud eyes summer transfer

Olivier Giroud is prepared to quit Arsenal this summer if Arsene Wenger revamps his strike-force, writes Darren Lewis. French international Giroud is keen to ensure he is playing regular first-team football next season, in order to make his country’s squad for the World Cup in Russia.

With top-scorer Alexis Sanchez likely to leave with just a year left on his contract, Wenger is known to have a new frontman among his list of priorities as he revamps his squad.

Marseille have a strong interest in making Giroud part of a major recruitment drive which they hope will result in the club competing for the French title next season, and booking a return to the Champions League.

News 5: Wenger plans bold double raid on Madrid

Transfer windows don’t tend to be Arsene Wenger’s time to shine but if he pulls off a double raid on Real Madrid, fans may be impressed.

However, it’s not Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale being spoken about but Danilo and Karim Benzema.

Spain’s Don Balon claim Wenger, should be still be there, wants Danilo to replace Hector Bellerin should the defender go to Barcelona in the summer. Olivier Giroud’s future is also not assured, hence talk of Benzema.
