Celtic submits bid to City for Patrick Roberts
Celtic under former Liverpool and Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has been in prolific form.On the year marking the golden jubilee of the ‘Lisbon Lions’, the Glasgow outfit is on the verge of an unbeaten domestic season.
And the man, rather the boy who played an integral part in the campaign is Patrick Roberts, the 20-year-old Manchester City loanee. Roberts has impressed many big names across the continent netting 16 goals in 42 games for Celtic this season alongside numerous assists.
Rodgers wants to keep the 20-year-old winger at Glasgow and according to reports, Celtic has already registered a bid to Manchester City last fortnight. Phil Mac Giolla Bhain, in his personal blog, wrote that the Glasgow giants has submitted a bid of £6.8 m to Etihad to secure the services of the prodigious talent. According to some other sources, the amount is £8 million. The deal has a flat 25% sellout clause, which will profit City.
The figures clearly reveal Celtic’s urge in keeping the Fulham academy product in their camp next season. Although Pep Guardiola is also a big admirer of the lad but it would be tough for the City management to turn down the offers from Celtic.
