Ghana U17 secured their world cup berth

Ghana became the first African nation to qualify for FIFA U17 WORLD CUP which is due to be held in India in the month of October. The African strongholds has thrashed Gabon for a score of 5-0 in the ongoing CAF U17 Championship.

Ghana sits on top of group A with 6 points from 2 matches and has advanced to the semifinals of the competition. Guniea with 4 points sits on the second spot and is only a point away from booking their World cup berth.

Captain Eric Ayiah and midfielder Emmanuel Toku scored twice to help the two time U17 world champions to secure their berth. Patmos Arhin’s 76th minute goal sealed off the victory for the African starlets.

Ghana has won the prestigious U17 World Cup in 1995 and 1999 and finished as runners up on two occasions.
