Massive developments hint at Kyle Walker joining Manchester City
Manchester City seem to have won the race to sign Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker.
Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker has been on the radar of a number of Premier League giants following the rumours that he could leave the North London side after falling out with manager Mauricio Pochettino. Walker is reportedly furious with Pochettino after he was left out of the starting XI for a couple of important matches with Pochettino preferring Kieran Trippier over him.
Walker is regarded as one of the best right-backs in England. His potential availability has alarmed the Premier League giants including Manchester City and Manchester United among others.
Manchester United boss José Mourinho is determined to replace inconsistent Matteo Darmian with a top-class right-back this summer and Walker perfectly fits the bill.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is a known admirer of Walker. Pablo Zabaleta has already announced his decision to leave the club after this season. Both Bacary Sagna and Jesús Navas are expected to leave too. So, Walker is highly in contention for the role at the Etihad.
Earlier yesterday, reliable City ITK ‘MCRJON’ broke a news that ‘Walker to City is a done deal’. The claim has been duely supported today by the swinging on the betting market regarding Walker’s proposed move. The odds of Walker ending up at Manchester City next season has suddenly reduced to 1/10 from 1/3 on Sky Bet. Since then, Sky Bet have suspended betting on Walker joining the blue half of Manchester. That’s a massive hint on Walker’s next possible destination.
Both Manchester clubs are ready to double Walker’s current £70k-a-week wages to sign him. But, considering the fact that the 26-year-old has signed a 5-year extension last September, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wouldn’t entertain any bid less than £40m for the England international.
