‘Form is temporary but class is permanent’- this statement has been proved right again by Chelsea as they came back to regain the EPL after coming out of the disappointment of the last season.

On 13May,2017 they wrapped up their 6th EPL title after defeating West Bromwich Albion through a late goal from Michy Batshuayi. Even the ardent of Chelsea fans have never thought that this would happen after such a disastrous season. But Italian manager Antonio Conte has done it through his strategy and man-management. He has instigated the fighting spirit in the squad and had made them believe that they can win it.

When Antonio came his biggest task was to bring up the confidence level and moral of players. Then he picked out the weak points of the previous year Chelsea team. The inclusion of Ngolo Kante, Michy Batshuayi and Marcos Alonso proved hit for Chelsea as the trio had immense contribution in the success of the team especially Kante and Alonso.

Conte first tried his traditional 4-2-4 and 3-5-2 formations but it didn’t suite well with the team as THE BLUES lost to Liverpool and Arsenal. After the defeat against Arsenal Conte shifted to 3-4-3 formation. This shift proved to be the biggest hit as Chelsea went on to win 13league matches including thrashing of Manchester united by 4-0. Chelsea’s winning streak was ended by Tottenham hotspur at White Hart Lane. But Conte brigade again came back and went on to remain undefeated in 15matches in all competitions.

The 3-4-3 formation gave Chelsea the balance they needed for high attacking and defending. The magical form of Pedro, Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, Ngolo Kante, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta also made the path to the holy grail smooth for Chelsea. Many people including a veteran coach of a famous club didn’t keep Chelsea in top 5.

The thing they have forgotten that this is the team which have came back from the dead, done the impossible and had defeated the champions in the past. Chelsea were ruthless throughout the whole season losing only 5matches in both EPL and EFL cup. They scored 76goals and conceded only 29goals in the league which is the second best goal difference in the league(after 48 goal difference of Tottenham).

The passion, strategy and no non-sense mind game of Antonio Conte has earned him a special place in the heart of all Chelsea fans throughout the world. So England is blue twice in last 3years.
