Pepe to join the Milan giants?
Portuguese international Pepe is playing his last season with the Los Blancos. His tenure at the Spanish capital would be remembered by many fondly as he evolved into one of the most prominent names in defending in global football alongside Sergio Ramos in this period.
Pepe’s contract with Madrid will expire this season and he can join any club as a free agent. As a consequence there is no lack of suitors for the Euro Cup winning centre-back.
But according to reports of Spanish daily Marca, Milan is going to be the new destination of the former Porto man. Although they have not clarified which Milan outfit is tracking him as both Inter and AC Milan are having defensive issues to address and may want him. But Sky Italia has confirmed that it is the Nerazzurri who have emerged as the suitors of the veteran Portuguese.
According to sources, the officials of the Sunning group, the owner of Inter, met with the agent of Pepe on Wednesday and had talks about the move.
Pepe has previously been linked with Chinese side Hebei China Fortune and French giants PSG. But reports claim that Pepe may snub both PSG and Hebei to play for Inter Milan next season.
Although everything is still in the level of conversations, but a move to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza seems on the cards for Pepe.
