Holger Badstuber to return to Bayern?
Schalke have decided not to make the deal permanent for defender, Holger Badstuber.
Badstuber has made 10 appearances since joining Schalke on loan in January. His senior career has been plagued by injuries and if Bayern also refuse to make a deal, the defender could well become a free agent.
Reports are suggesting that the defender has signed a one year extension before departing for the Veltins Arena.
Schalke has made a permanent move for Sevilla’s Konoplyanka who was on loan for the Bundesliga outfit. They have open talks with Chelsea to over a new deal for Baba Rahman.
“We will not sign Badstuber on a permanent deal,” sporting director Christian Heidel said at a news conference.
Hiedel also added “The coach discussed things with Holger on Wednesday. The club will say farewell to him on Saturday [at home to Hamburg].”
Konoplyanka will remain at Schalke beyond this season. The club have sorted the formalities and is very much impressed by his performances.
Hiedel is hopeful for the Baba Rahman’s deal as he says “We are still in talks with Baba and Chelsea and hope that he will still be at Schalke next season. I hope to have news in the upcoming days.”
Schalke are eager to make Baba Rahman’s move permanent from Chelsea. Whereas Schalke are looking to wave off several players which inlude the likes of Huntelaar, Aogo, Riether, Neumann and also Wellenreuther.
