Inter’s Gabigol looking for a return to Brazil
Gabriel Barbosa Almeida, more famously known as ‘Gabigol’ is seemingly frustrated due to lack of match time at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Gabigol is considered as one of the hottest prospects of Brazillian football alongside the likes of Gabriel Jesus. But, while one Gabriel has won the back-patting of his manager and featuring in first time action sidelining Sergio Aguero, the fate of the other Gabriel has not been so glossy remaining sidelined by Argentine Mauro Icardi.
Gabigol was signed by Inter Milan last summer at a reported fee of €29.5M but after joining the Nerazzurri the Brazillian ace has played only 8 matches, coming as a sub in all occasions and scoring once.
But the Santos Academy product wants more match-time to justify his credentials and also to remain a part of the national team setup. And for that he is looking for a return to his homeland in the upcoming summer.
According to Radio Jovem Pan, the 20 year old forward is wanted by the Brazillian giants Corinthians. Inter hierarchy has made it clear that Barbosa is a prominent part of their future plans and only a loan move seems on the cards.
Inter are also interested in Corinthians’ Brazillian left-back Guilherme Arana. The 20 year old has played for Brazil U20 team.
Talks are pretty much open between the two sides and unless the new manager of the Nerazzurri next season can guarantee him regular first team action, a return to his country will become a certainty.
