Michail Antonio commits his future to the Hammers

Michail Antonio signs long-term contract with West Ham till 2021, after being one of their standout performers this season.

The English winger, who is down with serious hamstring injury has agreed to renew his contract which keeps him at the club till 2021.



“I’m over the moon, I’ve loved my time here and I’m just happy that we have managed to get things sorted so I can move onto next season and do what I’ve done this season,” the 27-year-old winger told the club’s official website.

Antonio also added “This year has been a better year than the last because I’ve played from start to finish and I managed to get the England call-up I’ve been dreaming of since I was a child. Hopefully, I can keep pushing on and do even better because I always want to do a better job than I have done previously.”

Antonio was named the player of the year for Slaven Bilic’s struggling side. His strong performances has earned him this honour and he will definitely do even better for the Hammers. He managed nine goals and five assists in all competitions before being sidelined last month.



Chelsea were keeping a close track on Antonio as he was among the top targets for the Blues. But West Ham were determined to keep him at the club and were positive that he would agree to sign a new contract.
