Real Madrid beats Barcelona in signing Brazilian wonderkid Vinicius Jr
The Los Blancos confirms €61 million deal with Flamengo for the “next Neymar”.
Real Madrid have beaten rivals Barcelona to the signing of the Brazilian super talent Vinicius Jr. It is for the 2nd time in a week that Real emerged on top of Barca in securing a transfer target.
Real have also beaten Barca to sign Atletico Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez, who has been impressive on loan at Alaves. Reports suggest that the young left-back was definitely on the Blaugrana’s wishlist.
Zinedine Zidane has been pro-active with the deal and has offered extra financial incentives to the club representatives to lure the wonder kid from Flamengo.
A total package of €61m (£51.5m) has sealed the deal with €45m (£38m) going to the Rubro-Negro, a further €8m (£6.75m) in incentive-related bonuses and €8m (£6.75m) more going to the player’s representatives.
The offer may rise quite a few eyebrows but the Los Blancos did not want to repeat the same mistake made in 2013. When they lost to Barca to sign Neymar, a missed opportunity that has proven to be costly since then.
Vinicius Jr is seen as one of the most promising youngsters in the world. The Brazilian wonder kid has represented Brazil in both U-15 and U-17 levels and is definitely a great prospect for the future.
