AC Milan and their activities in the transfer window will be under scrutiny by the football pundits. And the position that could attract the most amount of rumours is the hot seat-the managerial role and it’s future in the club.

But Marco Fassone, the newly appointed Director General of the club has spilled water on all speculations on Monday and clarified that the hierarchy has full faith on Vincenzo Montella, their current man in charge.

Fassone, Mirabelli and the Milan management had an elite body meeting at Casa Milan on Monday to decide the blueprint of the future activities of the club.

Coming out of the meeting Fassone said to RAI Television,”I will repeat that he has full backing of the club and that he will be our coach next season.”

The above vote of confidence by Fassone has solidified the future of current Rossoneri manager at the hot seat.

Vincenzo Montella is considered as one of the brightest managerial prospects in Italian football by many. The former Roma striker has previously managed the likes of Inter and Fiorentina. He was hired as the Milan manager at the start of the season and has won many appreciators during his tenure at San Siro amidst mix results.

Milan is currently sitting sixth in the Serie A table with 59 points, only 3 points ahead of arch rivals Inter. Featuring in the third qualifying round of UEFA Europa League seems pretty much on the cards unless there is any serious mishaps in the concluding round of fixtures.

Montella has attracted many critics also for sticking to his 4-3-3 formation and not changing from it in spite of not having proper players to play in this formation. But he has promoted youth to the first team at the abundance and their performances under this young manager make many people have the belief that he is the manager to be sticked with.

Now as the confirmation has arrived from the top man of the authority, Montella would probably be able to focus on his job of building a team for the future.

“Our priority at this time is extending the contracts of our players.”, said Fassone. Keeping the nucleus of the team intact alongside the manager is what Milan will be upto.
