Manchester City preparing Alex Sandro bid
Manchester City are ready to go all out for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
The 26-year-old Brazilian International, Alex Sandro is one of the most coveted left-backs right now having established himself as one of the mainstays of the Juventus backline and now Pep Guardiola is ready to snap him up from the Old Lady to solve his defensive problems.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claims that City have already started talks with Juventus regarding Alex Sandro with Italian outlet Tuttosport believes the Etihad-based club are ready to fork out €60m for Sandro and further €10m on bonuses. Simon Mullock of the Sunday Mirror went one step ahead to claim that Juventus have already started searching for Sandro’s replacement.
With both Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov are on the wrong side of the 30’s, City have made Sandro their top priority this summer. Pep Guardiola is said to be a big fan of Sandro’s pace and defensive solidity. He reckons Sandro as a perfect fit for his possession-based play.
Reports also suggest that Guardiola tried to sign Sandro in his very first season at the Etihad only to be backed off by Juve’s unwillingness to sell the player just one year after forking out £23m for his services.
City are ready to offer Sandro more than €4m per year salary, that too after tax. Such a huge salary cap along with the chance of working under Guardiola could be too much tempting a chance to resist for the Brazilian.
In case they miss out on signing Sandro, City lining up other potential left-back targets in the likes of Benjamin Mendy(Monaco), Sead Kolasinac(Schalke), Jose Gaya(Valencia), Juan Bernat(Bayern Munich), Benjamin Henrichs(Bayer Leverkusen) and Alex Grimaldo(Benfica).
