Real Madrid thrashes Granada 4-0 to go back on level terms with Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

Real Madrid had to win against Granada away from home to keep up with Barca who have already defeated Villareal 4-1 earlier on Saturday.

Real were dominant right from the word go and had the lead within 3 minutes into the game. Both James and Morata proved their worth in 4-0 rampage against already relegated Granada.

Real Madrid had the lead very early in the game when Morata threaded the ball into open spaces in the Granada defence and Luca Vazquez cannons the shot towards goals and it gets deflected off James before ending up in the back of the net.

James doubled the lead just 8 minutes later when Vazquez’s overhit cross reached Contrao as he fires it back into the danger area, where the Colombia international was present in acres of space to head the ball home.
Real were dominant from the start and it forced Granada manager Tony Adams to make a tactical swith, as he brough in defensive midfielder Uche in place of Watford loanee Ally Malle.

The change did gave them a bit of solidity but was not enough to stop Morata from scoring. Real threathened down the right flank as Vazquez found Danilo on the overlapping run as the Brazilian fires a cross from the by-line which is smashed off the inside of the bar by Morata.

Morata had his double just 5 minutes later when Asensio dribbled into the danger area and found the Spain international inside the box. Morata was smart enough to distract the nearby defenders to fires it past Ochoa.

Vazquez had his chances to when he fired the crossbar at the 42nd minute forcing one-on-one stop from Ochoa with Casemiro sending the rebound over the bar.

Adam sent his players with a renewed tactics and they tried to hold Madrid, who were already cruishing 4-0 at the interval. Vazquez continued his quest for goal when his strike fired the side netting.

Benzema was introduced for Asensio and he almost registered himself on the scoresheet when Vazquez found Benzema in the box but the striker missed the golden opportunity to increase the lead. Danilo was also unlucky to hit the base of the post from the rebound.

Ramos was denied by Ochoa from a James’ corner and also headed wide at the 66th minute from a Vazquez’s shot towards goal which again went in vain.

Granada had some chances when martin Hongla blazed over just 10 minutes from the final whistle and Dortmund loanee Adrian Ramos forced Casilla into a rare save at the near post. Granada were denied a consolation goal and their performance of this fixture sums up their whole season.

Real Madrid was dominant right from the beginning as first half braces from James and Morata was enough to bag crucial 3 points for the Los Blancos, as they look to keep pace with their fierce rivals Barcelona in the title race.
