Eden Hazard’s stay not guaranteed says Conte
Blues boss unsure whether Hazard will remain at the Bridge next season but admits it’s not up to him.
The Italian confesses his desire to keep Hazard at the capital but insists it would be a tough job for him and the Chelsea board to persuade him to stay.
Spanish giants Real Madrid are constantly being linked with the Belgian and may well submit a bid this summer. Zidane’s hunt to bring in world class players at the Spanish capital is still on and the Belgian star man is at the top of his buying list.
The Los Blancos side are even ready to offload some of their own star men this season to fund the Belgian’s move at the Bernabeu.
Conte on Hazard’s situation : “I can tell you my opinion but the club has the final word — and you know that in football, there is the will of the player. I think Eden is very happy to stay with us.
“I don’t have a crystal ball and it is impossible for me to take this responsibility, not only for Eden but for every player. But the fans love him and I think there are a lot of positive things that will persuade him to try to reach the best with this club.”
With Chelsea on the verge of securing their 6th title in the top flight it is highly unlikely that the Blues winger would be on a move after this season. But his performances have been catching eye recently so his future at the club remains uncertain.
