Bayern secures the services of Thiago and Coman for the upcoming seasons
The German giants have opted to make the loan to buy deal permanent, keeping Kingsley Coman at the club till 2020.
Bayern Munich made it final as they have agreed to make Coman’s deal permanent and the new contract will keep him at the club till 2020.
The French wonder kid has shown glimpses of his brilliance in the last season and there is no doubt that the youngster has a lot of potentials and is one of Europe’s shining prospects. Bayern finally finalised the deal and agreed to pay the remaining 21 million euros as the deal was made in two instalments and Bayern paid Juventus 7 million euros at the time of the loan. Coman came to Bayern on a 2year loan deal and has impressed with his agility and the way he manages to loose his markers on crucial stages of the game.
“Kingsley Coman is an important building block for the future of our team, so we decided to take up the option,” chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said via the club’s official website. He also praised Coman’s composure and things that he had achieved at such tender age, definitely makes him a gem of a player for the club. With Robben and Ribery both getting old players like Coman will come up to fill the voids left behind by them in the team.
Coman was unsure with the fact whether to commit his future to Allianz Arena or to accept a move to Manchester City or Chelsea who were very interested in the French International. But he made up his mind and decided to continue at Bavaria.
Coman’s signature will give Bayern a positive vibe as this is the first step they have taken in securing the nucleus of their team for the upcoming years. With Robben and Ribery almost at the end of their careers, someone will have to step up in their absence in the future and it looks like Coman is the man Bayern can definitely rely on.
On the other hand, Bayern has today confirmed the extension of the contract of Thiago Alcantara. The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder has agreed to a two-year contract extension which will keep him at Bayern till 2021.
Thiago joined from Barcelona in 2013 and from then he has established himself in Germany and is currently a key member of this Bayern side. His excellent performances this season from the heart of the midfield has impressed everyone at Bayern. The Spain International has made 39 appearances for the club in all competitions and have scored 8 goals and also registered 9 assists.
“Thiago is one of the best and therefore most popular midfielders in Europe,” chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bayern’s official website.”We are very happy that we have been able to tie this outstanding professional to the club for the long term.”
On the other hand, Thiago was also very happy as he added, “My family and I feel very comfortable in Munich. Everything suits us here. I want to win many trophies with Bayern in the future.”
After a 5- game winless streak and exit from Champions League Quarterfinals to Real Madrid and loss in the DFB Cup semi-final against Dortmund, the league leaders are not having the best of the seasons. But these signings of Coman and Thiago helps them to be positive at this difficult phase.
