Conte has hit back on Manchester Clubs for lack of success even after spending huge amount money in the Transfer market.

The Blues sit on top of the English Premier League table with 75 points from 32 games & have a point difference of 4 from nearest opponent Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United & Manchester City are far off from Chelsea with 64 & 63 points respectively.

Antonio Conte has led his team to the top of the table this season, he did spend £135 million euros on David Luis and Kante, but they turned out to be fortune turners for Chelsea.

While other clubs mainly the Manchester twins managed by Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho spend more than Chelsea (around £15m more than that of Chelsea) are struggling to even secure a Champions League spot.

“I think this season it’s very important to understand that it’s not always about who spends more money who wins, Otherwise, in this league, this season the name of the team wasn’t Chelsea or Tottenham or Arsenal or Liverpool. You understand?”

“I think in every situation it’s important to find the right balance. If you have to spend money, try and spend that money in the right way to take players with the right characteristics for your idea of football.”- Conte said in the pre match interview prior to Chelsea vs Southampton clash.

Reporters also asked if he expects Manchester Twins to spend big again, Conte said – “Yes, like every year. You”ve seen the past. You can see that every season they spend a lot of money.

“I don’t want to go into the situation of the other teams, other clubs, other managers. Every single club decides their own strategy. But, if you ask me, this season isn’t the only season the Manchester clubs have spent a lot of money.”

“Look at the past. It’s normal for them. It’s right for them to do this, to reinforce their teams, if they think this is the right way to win the title.”
