Round-up of AC Milan Summer Mercato plans
After a takeover from The Chinese investors was completed, its being thought that the Rossoneri would invest a great deal in the team at the end of the campaign with fresh funds. However, there have been minor rumours from different sources about the summer Mercato budget for Milan which is yet to be confirmed by the new owners.
Reports have linked the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette with a move to San Siro. Alvaro Morata, Nikola Kalinic, Adrien Silva and Edin Dzeko have all been targetted as the players to boost the Rossoneri attack while they may look to offload their star striker Carlos Bacca.
Milan are said to be planning a double swoop for Lazio’s Keita Balde and Stefan De Vrij. Its been reported that both players are admired by Coach Vincenzo Montella. Valued at €50M by Biancoceleste’s president, Claudio Lotito, the Rossoneri will have to be ready to invest big sum if they want to bring the duo to the San Siro.
Villareal’s Argentine defender, Mateo Musacchio have been linked to the 7 times continental champions for a while now and reports say that Milan already has a deal in place for the defender for around €15m + bonuses. He is considered as the alternative to De Vrij and will represent more value for money in the summer Mercato.
On top of the new owners’ agenda is to extend the contracts of Donnarumma, Suso and De Sciglio. Club CEO Marco Fassone and SD Massimo Mirabelli are working in maximum co-operation with Montella for the transfer issues.
Meanwhile Milan star, Suso, is demanding an extra €500,000 to the New contract and wants to restart talks about a contract renewal and wants to know the club’s plans. There was an agreement with the previous management on a contract extension until 2021 where Suso would earn €2.5m/season. However finding a New agreement should not be difficult as Suso just wants to know the future plans of the New owners.
Earlier this week, New sporting Director Massimo Mirabelli and Coach Montella were spotted in the stands at Stade Louis II to observe the Monaco-Dortmund game. Dortmund star Pierre Aubameyang and Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe were keenly observed. Also Monaco stars, Benjamin Mendy and Tiemoue Bakayoko were watched. Meanwhile Benjamin Mendy might be seen as the alternative to Schalke’s Bosnian International fullback Sead Kolasinac who Milan have been showing interest in but with recent reports from several sources reporting that Arsenal might have won the race for the 23 year old with Kolasinac reported to be undertaking his medical with them this week.
In the midfield, Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas remains the top priority for Milan although the £25m asking price by the blues might put off Milan’s interest with Fiorentina midfielder, Milan Badelj seen as a cheaper alternative to the Spanish international. Lyon’s Correntin Tolisso and Anderlecht’s Youri Tielemans are also being linked though there are earlier reports that French side AS Monaco might have won the race for the former on a deal worth €20m.
As the season nears its end and Summer Mercato fast approaching, Milan will have to act fast to secure some of their targets to put them in a good position before the 2017/2018 season officially kicks off in August.
