Another busy summer transfer window ahead for Manchester city
Manchester City have finally given up on Tottenham’s English trio of Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Dele Alli.Given their current form and the fact that city are desperately in need of homegrown players who are well aquainted with the league and domestic cups., they would have high release clauses attached to them. Thus Guardiola has turned his attention to a different group of English players.
Ex-Man United defender Michael Keane, Midlesbrough defender Ben Gibson and Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford top Guardiola’s list to increase his squad depth defensively. Arsenal speedster Alex Oxlade Chamberlin and central midfielder Jack Wilshere are also on his radar.
Another arsenal player who has suddenly become one of city’s prime targets is Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez who is having his best season for Arsenal with 22 goals and 14 assists has become unsettled after a string of poor performances from his team had earlier stated that he would like a move in the same city hinting a move to the Blue team of London. However as things stand now, he is looking forward to reuniting with his former coach Pep Guardiola, at the Blue team of Manchester and would reportedly move for a £50 million.
Despite putting stress on creating his team around English players Guardiola is reluctant on letting English keeper Joe Hart return to the squad. Torino who are enjoying his services in the Italian Siere A want Man City to extend his loan for another season. City however are looking to cash in on him while he still has his reputation and are looking for a permanent deal for Joe Hart , thus letting go of a player who has one of the highest number of matches played for the Citizens. Conte and Mourinho are both fans of the keeper and have been observing him. Joe Hart might secure a move to either Chelsea or Man United in the summer if Real Madrid buy either David De Gea or Thibaut Courtois.
Manchester City would also be looking to ship out Wilfred Bony who has attracted the interest of Turkish outfit Galatasaray. City value him at £25million but might let him go for less.
In form Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe who has scored braces against Man City and Borussia Dortmund is another exciting name on Pep’s wishlist . Other Premier League teams like Chelsea Arsenal and Man United are also interested in signing the Monaco wonder kid. However this deal is unlikely to happen as Monaco has slapped a whooping £130 million on him to ward off interest.Pep is eyeing him as a long term attacking replacement and could engage in a long drawn transfer battle to get him in his squad.
With his loan spell with Celtic ending in summer of 2017, Patrick Roberts , dubbed English Messi due to his playing position and style would return to Man City.
The way the current squad is shaping up,if Pep Guardiola manages to secure his targets City would be a force to be reckoned with ,having enough bench strength to fight through a long drawn English Football season.
