Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez’s future is in doubt with Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG are circling for his signature.

Alexis Sanchez is reported to be on the verge of leaving the Gunners after rejecting back to back contract extension. His contract at the Emirates is set to expire at the end of the next season. Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG are ready to take full advantage of the situation.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola knew Sanchez from their time together at Barcelona and he is eager to add the Chilean International to his disposal. Sanchez, himself is also said to be keen on reuniting with his former boss at the Etihad.

When asked about the rumour in the Thursday’s press conference, Guardiola neither confirmed it nor denied it. He said, “Now’s not the time to discuss that, we have a lot of business to do.”

Arsenal, on the other side, are trying their best to keep hold of the 28-year-old by offering him a staggering £300k-a-week offer. If Alexis does give the green signal to any such extension, he would be the highest ever earner of the Premier League surpassing Paul Pogba’s current £290k-a-week contract at Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger remains tight-lipped over any such offer. “First of all I cannot confirm that we have offered that.”, the Frenchman insisted.

“Secondly we will do as always and consider our financial potential to sustain wages for the whole squad.”What is sure is what is paid today in a week paid for a year 20 years ago.”Will that continue to go up? I’m tempted to say no but I’ve always been wrong.”, he added.

But reports are stating that Sanchez’s desire to leave has nothing to do with money. Lack of silverware, early exits from the Champions League in consecutive seasons and the possibility of missing out on a top 4 place this season prompted Sanchez to take such decision. If Arsenal fail to retain Sanchez, they would demand anything around £50m for the 28-year-old Chilean International.

Sanchez has scored 22 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions this season with 18 of them came in the Premier League. He also has 9 assists in the Premier League to his name. He has recently been nominated for PFA Player of the Year award.
