Angers SCO vs Paris Saint-Germain Match Preview
Paris Saint-Germain seek to make it a home and away double over Angers in the early kick off this weekend on Friday night. Angers have their second attempt to affect the title race in as many weeks after having lost 1-0 at home to Monaco last weekend.
Unbeaten in 13 league games PSG will want the three points to put some early pressure on Monaco to get a result in the 5pm Saturday fixture.
Angers put up an admirable first half defensive performance last weekend against table toppers Monaco and will hope to have a repeat of that for the entire game this week. PSG had a rather different last game, in which they were the ones who were tasked with breaking down a resilient defence and will hope to have a similar level of success to that 4-0 win.
PSG’s Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani will want to break a personal record and score his 30th league goal for the first time in a season in this fixture. Cavani will lead what will be a full strength team as PSG seek to retain their domestic treble, after having been on the wrong end of a humiliating capitulation in the Champions League.
Angers on the other hand have very little to play for except pride; 12th on the table, safely away from relegation but not competing for continental qualification.
