Juventus vs FC Barcelona Match Preview
So we get a taste of some UEFA Champions League action after many weeks, starting with a cracker of a match, that is Juventus vs Barcelona.
The Bianconeri have been in a wonderful run of form since the past 3 months, and barring a 2-3 loss against Napoli in the second leg of the Coppa Italia, they haven’t tasted any defeat in all competitions. Even then they advanced to the final, thanks to the 5-4 aggregate score.
Coming over to the Blaugranas, it seems a bit bleak for them. They suffered a serious setback to their La Liga hopes due to a 0-2 away loss at Malaga, in a gameweek where both the 1st and 3rd ranked sides gained a point each.
Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has warned Barcelona that his side are in their best spell of the season, and he believes they are in a great place heading into the final weeks of the season.
Dybala told Spanish newspaper Marca: “I think we’re coming into the tie in the best manner. We’re better than them.”
“We’re in the best moment of the season. That’s how I see it after knocking Napoli out of the cup and the league wins against Chievo and Sampdoria.”
“I’m sure Barcelona will want a response to the defeat against Malaga. But that’s fine, at home we are a very strong team.”
Juventus will be looking to extract revenge after their 1-3 loss against Barcelona in the 2015 UEFA Champions League Final. They would like to see a big win at the Juventus Stadium, but they’re wary of Barcelona’s recent comeback against PSG. Dybala insists his side cannot fear a repeat of the same thing happening to them. He said: “We must not be afraid of anything. Respect yes, but not fear. We’re in the best moment to face Barcelona. They recovered against PSG, but PSG didn’t play that game like they should have. The 6-1 (second-leg score at the Nou Camp) serves as a lesson to us.”
