Real Madrid are free from injury concerns after the international break and Znedine Zidane has the scope to choose his starting line-up and rotate the squad before what could be a decisive month for the reigning European champions. Casemiro will be the only player unavailable due to suspension.
The skipper Sergio Ramos will be given rest, as Zidane announced during the pre-match press conference. Keylor Navas, James Rodríguez and Marcelo will also be rested as Zidane looks to keep his players fresh for the upcoming tough stretch.
Alavés, on the other hand, had defeated Real Sociedad (1-0) before the international break and will be hoping to produce a similar result at the Bernabéu. The last season’s second divison champions have displayed some impressive performances this season including 2-1 win against FC Barcelona (in Camp Nou) and 1-1 draw against Atlético Madrid (in Estadio Vicente Calderón), and even picked up a 2-1 victory over Málaga with 10 men.
They are also in the finals of Copa del Rey and will be playing against the Catalan giants in the next month. However, Marcos Llorente’s (due to loan terms with Real Madrid) and Rubén Sobrino’s (due to injury) absence could be hard felt in this game against the Los Blancos.
Real Madrid’s squad: Casilla, Yáñez; Carvajal, Pepe, Varane, Nacho, Danilo; Kroos, Kovacic, Modric, Asensio, Isco; Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale, Vázquez, Mariano, Morata.
Alavés’s squad: Pacheco, Ortolá; Rodrigo, Raúl García, Alexis, Laguardia, Theo, Kiko, Martín, Feddal; Camarasa, D. Torres, Édgar, Manu, Ibai, Toquero, Romero, Katai; Santos, Deyverson.
