Zlatan Ibrahimovic hints to stay after confirming contract talks
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he is in talks with Manchester United over a new contract.
Manchester United star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said over his future and reports suggest he has confirmed that he is talking over extending his current contract this year. The Swedish goal machine has hinted he will sign a new deal by claiming he will “never leave a job unfinished.”
The 35-year-old striker has the option of another year on his contract and the United manager, José Mourinho, has already said he wants the Swede to stay. And it’s clear that Mourinho certainly believes that omission of him from the squad could affect the team attacking. Ibrahimovic has certainly fulfilled what he had to do according to his contract which was decided to give him by United board.
Premiere league has always remained uncertain, United till now is fighting for top 4 as they look to qualify for Champions League but Ibrahimovic has scored through wins, losses and draws flawlessly, as a result a 26 goal performance is in his United career.
And even in his debut season, Ibrahimovic has played like a classy professional which fulfils his contract agreement. He has been a huge success for United throughout the season. Zlatan also has a record of winning 2 trophies in his 1st season at United in names of Community Shield and EFL Cup, in both occasion he played well, in EFL final his 2 goals were crucial to the club also. So he almost single handedly won those trophies for his club. Any club would look for a marksman like this but Zlatan has hinted that he could stay to cool down rumours.
“I’m a person when I go into something I put my head 200% and I do what I’m good at,” said Ibrahimovic, also saying “I go in, I go for the kill and I go out. And when I go out, there are no complaints, that’s what I do. I never leave a job unfinished” according to Manchester Evening news.
Ibrahimovic has surpassed expectations in his debut season in the Premier League after joining on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last year. Having scored 15 goals in League matches, Zlatan believes in coach Mourinho too and he has praised his works by quoting “I’m enjoying being at a fantastic club, without doubts, one of the biggest clubs in the world with a great coach, I know him before, he’s a winner, he’s the perfect coach for this club.”
Ibrahimovic has been linked with a move to the MLS, but United boss Jose Mourinho would love to keep the striker and the Swede confirmed he is discussing his future with the club.
“I have an option for another year, I want to do great as long as I’m here, so let us see, there is a lot of time. Being a Manchester United player, I don’t know how many people have that possibility but I am a Man United player, people wanted me here, I chose the club, I chose the best English club, that’s the way it works.”
Could Ibrahimovic stay in his recent club, any attacker who will come to United this transfer window will have to prove his place in regular XI and making it clear that he can cope with the Swedish star.
