Get Ready Bundesliga Fans as its time for the Revier Derby. It will be the 150th Revier Side Derby meeting between Schalke 04 & Borussia Dortmund when they face each other at the Veltins Arena for the Saturday (1st April 2017) evening Bundesliga clash.

Schalke 04: The Royal Blues a received an injury boost last week when the summer signing from Sevilla, Coke captained their side in a 3-1 friendly win over Hannover 96.



The Spanish full-back had suffered a cruciate-ligament injury in his first pre-season game for Schalke. Japanese side back Atsuto Uchida also played in Schalke’s win over Hannover but it’s unlikely that either player will get selected for the Revier Derby. Daniel Caligiuri, Nabil Bentaleb & Matija Nastasic all are in contention to start after not featuring in their MatchDay 25 clash against Mainz 05.

Schalke possible line up (4-3-3): Fährmann – Kehrer, Höwedes, Nastasic, Kolasinac – Goretzka, Stambouli, Bentaleb – Schöpf, Caligiuri – Burgstaller Injured or Suspended: Naldo (pelvis), Baba Rahman (knee), Aogo (ankle), Embolo (ankle). Manager: Markus Weinzierl.

Dortmund: Dortmund head Thomas Tuchel is set to call a strong line-up compared to the one that beat Ingolstadt 1-0 before the International Break.

Defensive Midfielder Julian Weigl left the German National Team camp before their World Cup qualifier clash against Azerbaijan on Sunday with a thigh problem which he sustained against England in the Farewell match of Lukas Podolski, which Germany eventually won 1-0.



Weigl is unlikely to be fit but if he is fit, the midfielder will surely start. Likes of Marc Bartra, who’s back from Injury and Ousmane Dembele, who’s back from a one-match ban are also in contention to start.

Dortmund possible lineup (3-4-3): Bürki – Piszczek, Sokratis, Bartra – Durm, Castro, Weigl, Guerreiro – Dembele, Pulisic, Aubameyang. Injured or Suspended: Götze (metabolic disturbances), Reus (thigh), Bender (ankle), Rode (groin). Manager: Thomas Tuchel.

In the 149 previous meetings, Schalke have won 58 games against 51 of Dortmund which gives Schalke a slight edge over the Borussen’s, 40 matches ended in draws.
