Wayne Rooney set to leave Red Devils in this upcoming season.

After 14 years of a sensational career at Manchester United, striker Wayne Rooney is expected to make a move from Red Devils in this upcoming season.

The 31 years old seems to be like an outfit for United lately, for last few seasons Wazza is clearly out of form for his club despite being a good captain for his side and also for the national team. But this time it’s thought that manager Jose Mourinho is not ready to compromise anymore with this situation and reports suggest that Rooney is already told that he can leave if he wishes.

Rooney is one of the most coveted and established legends of United and his departures from Old Trafford will come as a shock to many fans too, but fans are also watching him play and they witnessed Rooney starting only nine matches for his club in the league. The former England captain has been the subject of huge offers from the Chinese Super League after Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho told him he can go.

But Rooney is probably not expected in a move linking to China, on the contrary, the strong news is on papers that two of Premier league clubs are interested in the attacker and maybe one of them will lure him in the upcoming transfer window. Although Everton was only linked before but all of a sudden West Ham come up as a surprise favourites and Rooney could be the subject of a transfer clash between Everton and West Ham in upcoming days.

Rooney, England’s all-time leading scorer, still believes he can play in the Premier League. Everton had a bid to sign him on loan rejected during the January transfer window. But the Sunday Express now understands that West Ham has registered an interest in signing Rooney. The East London side has endured a torrid time on and off the pitch since moving to the London Stadium. And they are looking to make a marquee summer signing to win around fans who have been critical of the move from Upton Park.

West Ham is ready to pay the £150,000 a week that Rooney is demanding from his boyhood club, Everton. But the transfer depends very much on the situation of West Ham’s managerial situation as it is belied that Slaven Bilic has only three games to save his job at the club.

Although several rumours and possibly strong news are on media links and papers, United legend Paul Scholes is backing Rooney with full support. According to Scholes, Rooney is not done yet and he may have more to give to his current club than just leaving, especially where he was in process of a legend for about 15 years. No need to say it that departure of a club legend like Rooney is not accepted lightly by everyone.

Paul Scholes believes Wayne Rooney still has a role to play for both Manchester United and England and claims his old club and country team-mate is far from finished. Scholes feels Rooney should remain part of the set-up at both club and international level, as he has valuable experience to pass on to both sides’ younger players.

“Wayne has been a sensational footballer for England and Manchester United for nearly 15 years. He is greatly respected and I still think he has a part to play with United and England,” he said.

“He has a great experience, he can pass knowledge on to young players and it’s up to Gareth if and when he wants to use it. I don’t want to talk about him going to another English club, I hope he gets himself back into the United team. He has a fight on his hands but the Wayne Rooney I know is someone who will face that challenge and try to do it.”

“He still has a prominent role to play for England and United. There’s been a lot of speculation over where he goes now but Wayne, with what he’s done, has earned the right to do what he wants to do. I hope he does stay and fight.”

Whatever this is, the final decision is on the legend itself and it’ll be revealed soon what can be a shock to many people in order to a new era of his current club. There are reports that Jose Mourinho, manager of United is in search of a marquee attacker once more after luring Ibrahimovic in the previous year and reportedly willing to update the front line of United to fight for Premier League and Champions League the very next season.

Names like Antoine Griezmann and Romelu Lukaku has been on news linked to United, so it’s very clear that if Rooney wants to be a regular member of United 1st eleven then he will certainly have to prove himself as soon as possible.
