Real Madrid and Chelsea – Transfer Saga
With the presidential elections not far away, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has strongly hinted that he is keen to land a big name over the summer transfer window.
Seemingly, Real Madrid have always shown interest in the Belgian playmaker with the current boss Zinedine Zidane being a long-standing admirer of him. The Belgian star is having a great season so far, scoring 11 goals in 31 games and playing a vital role in Chelsea’s unmatched run to clinch the Premier League and Real Madrid would be happy to know that he is open to offers from other clubs.
On the other hand, the Blues are reportedly interested for James Rodríguez, with the Columbian apparently frustrated at the lack of game time under Zidane. The Los Blancos number 10 is determined to make a mark in the upcoming days and might want a move away from the Spanish capital, Chelsea being the potential destination. Álvaro Morata’s story isn’t much different either. He has been mostly used a substitute since his return from Juventus and might end up in London when the season finishes, with Antonio Conte desirous to sign the Spanish striker.
Real Madrid is also interested in signing Thibaut Courtois should they fail to get hold of David de Gea from Manchester United. Courtois, who previously played for Atlético Madrid could also end up back in the Spanish capital.
Therefore, the two aforementioned clubs have various mutual transfer interests. With both the Spanish capital and the England capital anticipating the arrival of some big names, a riveting transfer window awaits.
