Real Madrid Offer Isco a Contract Renewal
Real Madrid will offer a new contract extension for Isco.
It has been a period that has seen the Real Madrid midfielder being linked with a potential free transfer to arch-rivals FC Barcelona.
Isco’s current contract expires in the summer of 2018, and therefore the Spaniard is the subject of interest from several clubs like Manchester City, FC Barcelona, etc.
The 24-year-old was used as a second-half substitute, as Spain managed a 4-1 victory over Israel, with the midfielder scoring the 4th goal.
Isco opened up to the media after the game and denied the potential Barcelona transfer. “Now that there is little football going on [due to international break], some people have to make rumors up,”, said the player.
Isco hasn’t enjoyed the most comfortable season at the Spanish capital and is reportedly disappointed at the lack of playing time. However, despite featuring in the starting lineup in a mere 13 games (30 appearances, overall), the former Málaga man has scored 6 goals and has 5 assists to his name, which is quite impressive.
Heading into the last year of his contract, Real Madrid has finally landed a new contract extension to keep their number 22 with them for the next six years. The offer is reportedly worth €6m and would see the midfielder staying at Bernabéu until June 2024.
