Thibaut Courtois is ready to continue his career at Chelsea and drops a move to Real.
Thibaut Courtois, currently the best young goalkeeper has poured water in Real Madrid’s plan by wanting a new contract from Chelsea.
Courtois has established himself as Chelsea’s undisputed no 1 and wants to remain at Chelsea despite interest from Real Madrid. He has two years left on his contract and would love to remain as a key player of Chelsea for prolonged period.
“I have two more years of contract left. In London, everything is going well for me and I am happy,” Courtois told Spanish station Cadena Ser.
“At the moment we have not talked about a renewal. Now we are focused on winning the league, even though we have a ten-point advantage.
“Both the club and the coach want to keep calm now and not think about renewals.”We will see at the end of the season whether they offer me something, but at the moment there is no offer. Would I like to be offered a new deal? Sure.
“I’m very happy at Chelsea and if they want to continue with me, that would be great.” When asked about his thoughts about going to Real Madrid he said “I don’t see myself at Real Madrid. I see myself at Chelsea. I feel like a key player within the team.
“I am very calm because since the first year I have heard the same things. Here at Chelsea, we are battling for the league and FA Cup and I am content.
