Manchester City set to break the records for Donnarumma
AC Milan Goalkeeper Donnarumma subject of world record bid from Manchester City.
Manchester City are plotting a world record bid for Rossoneri Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as per reports.
The 18-year-old Italy International made his first team debut at the San Siro club at the age of 16 and he has been the undisputed number one in Milan lineup since.
Donnarumma, capped 59 times by his club and 2 times by Italy, is tipped for stardom by many pundits and legends of the game. He has already produced more no. of saves than any other keeper in Europe’s top 5 leagues.
‘Sky Sports Italia’ via ‘Football Italia’ reported that Donnarumma has just one year remaining on his current San Siro deal and he won’t be signing any contract extension. Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are ready to take full advantage of the situation by lodging a bid of around £104m-£130m that would shatter Paul Pogba’s world record £89m move from Juventus to Manchester United last season. Any such bid would also break the highest transfer record for a goalie previously held by Buffon when he joined Juventus from Parma in 2001 for £36.6m.
Donnarumma previously expressed his desire to remain at San Siro but now contract talks have been stalled due to uncertainty over future Chinese takeover of the club. His representative Mino Raiola also echoed the same thing.
The agent said: “I don’t know the Milan buyers and so far these investors are just embarrassing.”“It doesn’t look like a positive image and I hope they can come in to do important things with Milan. I don’t believe it, though.”
Apparently, this transfer saga is far from an end and it’s surely gonna be a long summer for AC Milan, Donnarumma and Manchester City.
