Djibril Sidibe drops hint over a move to Arsenal
Monaco Fullback Djibril Sidibe drops huge hint over a move to Arsenal or Barcelona if only playing time is guaranteed.
Versatile French and Monaco full-back Djibril Sidibe would consider a summer move to North London or Camp Nou, only if he’d be given quality playing time there. He denied a move to Emirates last season from Lille and has shown brilliant performances under Leonardo Jardim.
He has contributed to the progress of the Ligue 1 side as the league leaders and a place in the quarters of the Champions League. His defensive abilities and runs through the wings have attracted the interest of many European Clubs, but he isn’t hurrying at all.
He’s taking his time before taking decision for the moves to elite clubs. “The risk is going to going to a big club to be a replacement, to go backwards and to be loaned away – it’s complicated,” he told RMC.
“My criteria, it’s playing time. After that, if a club I could not refuse guaranteed me time to play, I would have to think.”
The Frenchman holds great ambitions and he’s definitely not running behind big money offers. Sidibe has capped 38 times for the Ligue 1 side with 3 goals and 5 assists in his bag. He has been added to the latest national squad in the clash against Luxemburg. “Every player wants to play against the best in the best leagues.
Today, I’m lucky to play with Monaco in a good team. We’re in the Champions League, we’re scoring lots of goals and we’re still capable of winning every competition. “I’m very happy at Monaco”, said the 24-year-old.
