Liverpool and Bayern receive huge setback in Werner chase
German wonder kid pledges his future to the Red Bulls.
RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has quashed all rumours linking him away from his current club by admitting that he is ‘happy’ at Leipzig.
Werner,21, is a target for both Liverpool and Bayern Munich this summer according to ‘Mirror’. Tottenham are also said to be a long time admirer of the German wonder kid who found the net on 14 occasions in 24 appearances for Leipzig this season.
“I want to keep growing together with RB Leipzig and keep developing here,” he told Welt am Sonntag. “I am still only 21 years old and still have plenty of years ahead of me.”
“I am very happy at Leipzig. Joining this club has been a stroke of luck. I have found my way again under Ralph Hasenhuttl.”
The energetic, high pressing forward joined RB Leipzig from Stuggart last summer for a reported £8m deal.
His form has already awarded him a call to German National Squad last week and he is expected to make his debut against England later this month.
