Manchester City missed the vital chance to reach the second as they had to suffer a draw against Stoke City.

Manchester City was playing a must win the match to have any hope of catching Chelsea while Stoke had to prove themselves and had to improve their recent form.

City started to attack Stoke from the first second of the game, they won the first corner of the game just after one minute.

It was a great start for Stoke as they were presented with an open chance when Gael Clichy slipped inside the box and presented the ball to Mame Biram Diouf, but Diouf could not get his shot away in the third minute of the game.

Bruno Martins Indi had a great chance to score the opener for Stoke but again it was not a great night for Stoke as he could not get his shot on target.

There were only a few chances created in the first half and City was not looking at their best and Stoke City was doing a great job by stopping the City attackers.

Second half was similar to the first as Stoke City was defending at the best and were not allowing the City players to break through and create an opening.

David Silva had a chance to score the opener when Fernandinho finds unmarked Silver with a great pass but his shot was wide off target.

Unfortunately the game ended in a draw, Stoke did a great job in defence as they block most of City’s attack.
