Manchester United wins the EFL Cup as Zlatan scores the late winner

Manchester United beat Southampton by 3-2 to lift the EFL Cup at Wembley on Sunday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a late winner for Manchester United as they beat Southampton to win EFL Cup Final at Wembley on Sunday.

Manchester starts the finals with De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Rojo, Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Martial, Ibrahimovic and on the other hand Southampton starts with Forster, Soares, Yoshida, Stephens, Bertrand, Romeu, Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Redmond and Gabbiadini.

Games starts and Manchester United are looking Sharp and are in control with their accurate passing.While there were few quick promising moves from Southampton to kick start the first ten minutes.

The first real chance of the game was fallen into the legs of the most expensive player on the pitch Paul Pogba, but his shot was saved by Fraser Forster.

Manchester United started the dominate the game, they were creating lots of chances to score the opener.Ibrahimovic and Pogba had multiple chances to score within the first 15 minutes but failed to beat Forster at Southampton post.

On the other side, United’s defense was sleeping and Southampton attackers were taking advantage of the sloppy defending from United by quick counter attacks.


Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the opener for Manchester United in the 17th minute of the game.Ibrahimovic beautiful curling free-kick pass over the wall and into the back of the net to make the scoreline 1-0.

Southampton played the game with some confidence as they were starting to play better football after the Zlatan’s goal.Southampton did create few promising moves but was unlucky.

Jesse Lingard scored the second goal for Manchester United in the 38th minute to increase United’s advantage to 2-0.Lingard kept a cool head to score after a nice passing move by United to open Southampton defense.

Southampton was playing at their top level and luck favors them as they scored a goal in the 45th minute, Manolo Gabbiadini scores the goal for them.

The second half was no different but it started with a surprise as Manolo Gabbiadini again puts his name on the score sheet after scoring in the 48th minute for Southampton.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a golden chance to score but his effort was saved by the Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster to keep the scoreline 2-2.

Oriol Romeu was unlucky not to score in the 63 minute of the game as his header from corner kick comes off the united post.

There were corners after corners for Southampton as they were really causing problems for Manchester United defense.Southampton seems to have done good homework are really creating problems for Jose Mourinho.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the winner for Manchester United in the 86th minute of the game, Ander Herrera’s cross was pin-point onto the head of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who heads home from six yards out to wrap up the game for United.
