India to play a friendly match against Cambodia in march

All India Football Federation (AIFF) today Confirmed that, Indian national team will play a friendly match against Cambodia National team on march 22 at Phnom Penh as a part of their preparations for AFC Asia Cup 2019 qualifiers.

The International friendly against Cambodia will help the National team to analyse their performance ahead of the crucial tie against Myanmar  on March 28 in AFC Asia Cup Qualifiers. Cambodia ranks 172  while India ranks 129 in latest FIFA rankings.

Speaking about the Friendly Stephen Constantine thanked AIFF officials for scheduling the friendly match

“I appreciate the efforts of the AIFF in helping me secure the match,The International Friendly will help the players understand each other better ahead of our tough challenge against Myanmar. The idea is to play against a team close to Myanmar with regards to climatic conditions.We plan to train in Cambodia for some days before proceeding to Yangon directly for our first match in the Qualifiers” he said.
