Bengaluru FC crashes out of AFC Champions League

Bengaluru FC failed to qualify for the group stages of AFC Champions League after they suffered a narrow defeat to Jordanian side Al-Wehdat. Albert Roca’s  men has put in a brave performance against the Green Giants but failed to qualify for the next round of competition.

The Final score was 2-1, Ahmed Baher’s strike in the early minutes of second half gave a well deserved lead for the home side. Baha Faisal extended the lead in 65th minute by scoring from the penalty spot. Bengaluru side managed to put one back minutes later to keep their hopes alive, skipper Sunil Chettri scored from a corner.

A well deserved victory for the green giants, certainly they were dominant side from the start of the game. Bengaluru side struggled throughout the match with possession and pressure.

Bengaluru FC now have the possibility of facing another Indian side in Mohun Bagan at the group stage of the AFC Cup.
