Gokulam FC gears up for the new season with high profile signings
Gokulam FC , newly formed club from Malappuram, Kerala gears up for the new season with some high profile signings. Former Kerala Blasters midfielder Sushanth Mathew joined the Malappuram based side for the upcoming season along with 3 santhosh trophy player and an Afghan player.
Noushad Bappu, Ananthu Murali and Jishnu Balakrishnan are the three new recruits for the club. All three players were part of Kerala santhosh trophy squad, who qualified for the final rounds of the cup competition.
The club also finalised a deal for Afghan footballer Badar Kail, The 21 year old forward was part of Al Ethihad Sports Academy and has rejected several offers from clubs in middle east region.
Earlier this month club logo was launched by Kerala chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan in an official function. AFC pro License holder Bino George has been appointed as the chief coach. Football enthusiast and Director of Gokulam Group Of Companies Shri Gokulam Gopalan is the club President.
More signings for the club ahead of the new season will be announced soon. The club has already signed several footballers from inside the state through a selection trials held at malappuram last month. Kottappadi stadium, Malappuram will be the base of operation for the club.The team will participate in several tournaments across the country. The aim is to play in the Top tier of Indian football in a short span of time.
