In the round 21 of the English premier league, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham registered comfortable victories. Chelsea, who were without injured Diego Costa, saw off a rather aggressive Leicester City at the King Power Stadium by 3 goals to nil. Marcos Alonso scored a brace. His first goal was a neat finish past Kasper Schmichael and the second goal was due to a cruel deflection via Wes Morgan. Pedro finished the game with a header after letting Willian run with the ball in the opposition box with an exquisite backheel. The result sees Chelsea at the top, seven points clear of the nearest opponent.

Meanwhile Arsenal and Tottenham defeated Swansea and West Brom respectively. Both won their matches by a margin of 4 goals to nil. Harry Kane scored a superb Hattrick for Spurs. That added by a Gareth MCauley own goal sees Spurs at the second place in the Premier League. Arsenal defeated Swansea with goals from Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and own goals from Kyle Naughton and Jack Cork sandwiched between.

In other matches Burnley defeated Southampton via a free kick goal by none other than substitute Joey Barton who joined Burnely for a short term deal recently. West Ham United showed that they weren’t going to buckle down after Payet refused to play for them. They defeated London rivals Crystal Palace by a margin of 3-0 in the Olympic stadium. Goals from Feghouli, Lanzini and an absolute wondergoal by Andy Carroll in between ensured that Hammers get all the three points. Hull City and Stoke City defeated Bournemouth and Sunderland respectively by the similar scoreline of 3-1 and Middlesbrough and Watford played a 0-0 draw.

The results leave Swansea languishing in the bottom of the table while Chelsea clearly leading the title race. The rest of the fixtures will be played out on Sunday when Manchester City visit Everton while Liverpool make a trip to the Old Trafford.
