Mané’s late strike ensures victory for Liverpool
Mane’s late goal in injury time ensures victory for Liverpool against Everton by 1-0.This is Liverpool’s fourth Premier League win over Everton that has come via a goal in the 90th minute or later.
The game was tight and bot teams were creating very little chances and there were no shots on target in the opening 45 minutes of the game.
Roberto Firmino got the first chance of the match to score a goal but his weak shot was saved by Maarten Stekelenburg in Everton goal.He got one more clear chance but this time his clean volley was saved by Joel Robles who replaced Maarten Stekelenburg.
But no one could stop Sadio Mane as he scored at 94th minute as Daniel Sturridge’s shot had hit the post and got deflected into the path of Mane,Mane kept a cool head and passed it into the net to secure victory for Liverpool.
Everton lost their goalkeeper due to injury just after the hour and they were lucky not to see Barkley sent off after 68 minutes for a rash tackle on Henderson.
Liverpool are now at the second position behind Chelsea by six points while Everton are now at the ninth position behind West Brom by goal difference.
