Bengaluru FC sign Harmanjot Khabra on season-long loan from Chennaiyin FC
I-League champions Bengaluru FC on Monday announced signing experienced footballer Harmanjot Khabra. The 28-year-old joined them on a season-long loan from Indian Super League (ISL) side Chennaiyin FC.
“I’m thankful to the Bengaluru FC, who pursued me. I must be doing something right to have been picked up by the champions of India. This is a new era in my career and I want to make the most of it. I’m looking forward to playing alongside the likes of Sunil Chhetri and Eugeneson Lyngdoh and want to do my bit in helping BFC win trophies,” the midfielder said in a statement.
Bengaluru coach Albert Roca said he was confident his new signing would add impetus to their I-League title-defending and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League aspirations.
He played for East Bengal for seven seasons, a few of them as skipper of the Kolkata giants.
