Atletico de Kolkata beat Mumbai City FC by 3-2
The first semifinal of the Indian Super League saw a dramatic end in which Atletico de Kolkata beat Mumbai City FC by 3-2 at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium on Saturday.
Mumbai City FC’s Diego Forlan was sent off during the match and the goals were scored by Leo Costa 10′, Gerson 19′ for Mumbai and L. Ralte 3′, I. Hume 39′, 45’minute for Kolkata.
Kokata started the game strongly and L. Ralte scored an early goal to put the home side in a one goal lead.But Mumbai came back strongly as Leo Costa scored a brilliant goal from Forlan’s free kick at the 10th minute of the game.
Kolkata’s defense fell apart as the visitors scored again at the 19th minute as Diego Forlan was once again behind the free-kick and Gerson scored with a header from point-blank range.
But Kolkata’s spirit did not die and they pushed hard for an equalizer,Ian Hume was their star as he scored twice within ten minute at 39th and 45th minute to make the score line 3-2 kolkata.
But Mumbai had a lot of oppurtunity to score but they were not able to keep a cam head in front of goal.Iain Hume had a golden chance to score the hat trick but was unlucky, he missed three chance at the dying moments of the match.
Diego Forlan was sent for rash tackling and will miss the second leg of the match which will be played at Mumbai on Tuesday.
