Kerala Blasters beat North East United by 1-0
Kerala Blasters have booked their berth in the ISL play-offs, courtesy of a goal by C.K.Vineeth.They finish second on the table and will face Delhi Dynamos while Mumbai take on Atletico de Kolkata.
Kerala Blasters started the match strongly and they started with three strikers,the first chance of the match came within a few minutes after the kick-off but Duckens Nazon could not find the back of the net.
Kerala were passing the ball really well and they tried to open up the opposition but NorthEast’s defense stayed strong and did not allow the Kerala strikers to score.
There were lot of chances for both team during the first half but bot team couldn’t find an open chance and first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
Kerala started the second half and NorthEast were constantly threatening the Kerala Defense and Stark was forced to make some number of saves and he kept the score 0-0.
Kerala broke the deadlock as Vineeth scored a stunning goal for the home side at 66th minute.The game became more lively after the goal,Belfort had a great opportunity to double the lead but Rehenesh kept the score line 1-0.
Kerala had NorthEast on the ropes and were looked extremely threatening on the counters as the visitors left spaces behind in search of an equaliser.
Blasters should have doubled the lead through German at 75th minute but again Rehenesh pulled out a great save.Rafi also had a chance but his header was deflected away by the crossbar.
Kerala will face Delhi on 11th December at Delhi and will play the home leg of the semi final on 14th December at Kochi.
