Rohit Ramesh, the ownwer of the franchise, confirmed to TOI on Tuesday that they would play no further part in the league. “We have ended our ties with the Premier Futsal League after the first season,” Rohit said.

Chennai had a disappointing start in  inaugural season of the competition as they failed to qualify for the knockout stages.

“We are now looking to compete in the I-League. The good thing is we didn’t have any issues on technical front as we have good practice facilities and a fantastic venue in the form of the Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium,” Rohit added. The owner also believes that an I-League team could be a major boost for the local football scene in the city.
